ROI - Financial Feasibility for Physician Office Laboratories

Laboratory managers, directors and personnel will develop and understand the tools necessary to determine gross and net revenue of in-house laboratory testing. Participants will learn how to set-up a financial spread sheet, plug and play volume numbers, and determine if a test is more profitable to perform in-house or send to a commercial laboratory. Attendees will be provided with forms to calculate cost analysis for each test.

OBJECTIVES:

Upon the completion of this session, participants will be able to:

· Determine financial feasibility of in-house testing

· Understand and utilize cost analysis sheets and formulas

· Justify cost of purchasing laboratory equipment and in-house POCT
